ABOUT US

DE-HOP is a House of Prayer that desires to operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week in harp and bowl style worship and prayer. We are focused on understanding the heavenly model of worship as seen in the book of Revelation, where 24 heavenly elders came to Jesus with two things- "a harp and a bowl" (Rev. 5:8). When Jesus had taken the scroll the 24 elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. Worship (harp) relates to the first Commandment to love the Lord with all your heart. Intercession (bowl) speaks of the second Commandment to love our neighbor as we labor for their salvation.

The three fold purpose of DE-HOP is: 1) to encounter God in the prayer room in a personal way that transforms us; 2) to change the spiritual atmosphere of the cities of the earth thus opening the heavens for more anointed evangelism so to fulfill the great commission; and, 3) to contribute to unity to the church in our city.

EXAMPLES IN HISTORY

In 1727, a young German nobleman, Count Zinzendorf committed his estate in East Germany named, Herrnhut, (literally "Watch of the Lord") to a 24-hour-a-day prayer ministry. This Moravian prayer ministry continued for  over 100 years, 24 hours a day. This nobleman who led this night and day prayer furnace, also led the first Protestant missionary movement in history. And he sent out the intercessors, two by two, to the unreached people-groups of the earth. As they were sent out in evangelism, the prayer furnace covered them.

In May 1983 God spoke to Mike Bickle and others about establishing a 24-hour-a-day prayer ministry in spirit of the Tabernacle of David. And 16 years later the International House of Prayer (IHOP-Kansas) was birthed.

RESTORATION OF THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID

The apostle James emphasized God's promise to restore the fallen Tabernacle of David in condext to all nations hearing the gospel in apostolic power. This enjoyable prayer model is established on the foundational principles of worship and prayer first instituted by King David. (Acts 15:14-18).
